Time is a thief. Time is Precious. But we can freeze it for a while, so you can remember it forever.

Before you tell your story…

Shannon Tessier Lifestyle Photographer in Orleans (Ottawa), Ontario

Your time is precious and so I want to make sure that I’m the right photographer for you. Why Tall Poppy Photography? Why motherhood and womanhood photography?

I’m a mother, I’m a woman. Two roles I hold and cherish. In fact, I consider them the highest honour. It doesn’t always seem like society values either but I do, and I know you do, too, which is why you’re reading this. And I know it’s not always an easy journey we’re on but there is still beauty in it. I’m going to make capturing this phase of your life as easy as possible, from styling guidance, to location options, or to assisting with printed work, I’m your go-to gal.

I originally chose social work as my profession over 2 decades ago because I wanted to have a positive impact and help others feel free to be themselves, pursue their dreams, and connect with their loved ones. I now put that same motivation towards my photography sessions; and bringing out playfulness, a sensual side, a love of life, and connection is my goal for you. I want your session to feel relaxed so that you enjoy the experience and can sink into the moment with your loved ones or yourself.

In terms of artistic style, while I edit each session individually based on the setting and lighting available, I skew towards bold with neutrals, and a bit of dreamy softness mixed in. I find this combination timeless yet still modern and unique. I offer complimentary pre-session consultation beforehand to ensure you have the photographs of your dreams.

…LET ME TELL YOU MINE

Photography is important. It's our memories when the memories are gone. It's our feelings when we can't put those into words. It's our passions when we want to share it with the world.

The most important story you’ll ever tell is the one about yourself. I'd like to help you tell it.
